2020 Begone

Well, because 2020 hasn't said "Screw you" enough this year, yesterday I was carrying some stuff in the kitchen (too much stuff apparently) and my phone slipped out of my hand and hit the floor.

No problem it's got a nice tough case.

I watched it hit the floor, couldn't grab it because of all that "too much stuff" in my hands, and watched it bounce (thank you nice tough case) and do a semi backflip... directly into the cat water bowl, bottom end first.

I threw all the stuff on the counter that a moment ago was too precious or breakable to try to save my phone from the fall and now had become disposable and unimportant and grabbed the phone which was now dripping wet.

I pulled off the case and thankfully there was no water inside of it so I figured I had dodged a bullet.

Fast forward a few hours (long enough for the water to have worked itself up inside from the charging/headphone ports that were fully immersed) and now I have a phone with a stripy screen, that thinks the headphones are constantly plugged in and keeps turning itself off after 5 seconds.

I just got the damn phone this year and I hate to have to redo everything AGAIN.

Can we just get to the point where things don't keep 2020-ing all over me?

It's all about me

Recalled a funny memory today.

I was in second grade and we were learning songs for the upcoming holiday show.

Our teacher was Jewish so we had an even mix of Christmas and Hannukah songs.

When the music teacher started playing and singing one of them for us to hear I was quite certain the words were: "Come light the Melora" and I was so embarrassed that I asked to go to the bathroom so I didn't have to hear everyone singing my name.

The teacher wouldn't let me go until she handed out the music at which time I realized they were lighting the Menorah, not in fact, me.
